Faking the news to wake up journalists
At the Argentine Journalism Forum (FOPEA) conference, I made the presidential office explode to show how AI could be used to create fake news.
How it was made
After more than 20 years working in newsrooms, I knew exactly what the pain points were in their daily routines. In Córdoba, FOPEA hosts a congress that brings together journalism students and industry professionals.
The result
The room at Blas Pascal University was packed for my 90-minute workshop, where I showed tools to cut videos, generate shots that don’t exist, and build fake news examples so that newsrooms could “train their eyes” to better distinguish what’s real from what’s fake online.
