Media Party: technology and journalism, together.
Since 2015, I’ve been working on Latin America’s most important event about how newsrooms use technology to inform better.
How it was made
I joined Media Party in 2015 because I believed there was great value in bringing people from The New York Times, the BBC, Vox, and all over the world to share with local media what happens when you put journalists and developers together. Today, I focus not only on that, but also on bringing companies and talent from around the globe to take part in an event that showcases both the good (and not-so-good…) uses of technology—so that our audiences are better informed and, as a result, our democracies stronger.
The result
More than 2,500 people take part in the event we host every year in Buenos Aires.
Since 2023, Media Party has also been running Media Party University, a space for students and institutions to reflect on how technology is constantly reshaping the communication industry.
We’ve also taken Media Party to the United States, hosting the event in Chicago in 2023 and in New York in 2024 at Columbia University’s Brown Institute (a joint venture between Stanford and Columbia).
