Making digital content for all LatinAmerica

DNews, the newscast covering news across Latin America, was originally designed as a TV channel. I worked with them on rethinking their digital content.

How it was made

One of DirecTV’s biggest bets in Latin America was to build a newsroom based in Buenos Aires with coverage across the region. The channel was founded in 2022, and a few years later they called me in to develop content adapted from broadcast as well as digital-first exclusives.

The Result

I worked on the Copa América 2024 special so that, before it even aired, it could be adapted to digital platforms—something that had never been done before. By the time Venezuela’s elections came around, we were ready to run a YouTube livestream that reached more than 4,000 concurrent viewers on a Sunday night, setting a record for DNews.

The video below shows how the newsroom used SAOViVO (the software my team build) for the Venezuelan audience in the week before the elections.
