A free open-source app funded by Google News Initiative.
It allows newsrooms to take YouTube playlists and stream them live. It can be used for news highlights or to do "niche live streams" with curated video collections.
Part of the grant was invested in interviewing +50 newsrooms from all around Argentina, when they were asked about the pains that live streaming had, one was that doing a 24/7 live stream was expensive on people and infrastructure.
SAOViVO helped newsrooms to focus on field coverage, without any studio costs. Autoplay is the game-changer.
